Dating : The worst pictures to see on a dating profile?

Dating : The worst pictures to see on a dating profile?

So I’m honestly curious to see the response! Men and women, straight or otherwise, what are the worst and biggest turn-off pictures you see on dating profiles?

I’m a straight woman and for me I can’t stand, in order of worst to kinda acceptable;

Pictures of them with other women that are clearly not their mother/ sister🤦🏻‍♀️

Shirtless mirror selfies (especially at the gym)🙄

Anything with the typical douche f boy face🤮

Them with exclusively fish/fishing pictures

Mirror selfie’s in general

Car pictures. As in just their car/truck. 😑

Them with said car/truck intentionally

Tons of pictures with the same guy friends making it hard to tell which one is the topic of interest

  1. Pictures of weed, selfies with Snapchat filters, flipping off the camera or sticking one’s tongue out

I’m over 30. I don’t want to see that shit.

  2. I once came across a guy’s profile, and every single picture was him and his SO. Including a picture of him PROPOSING to her.

  3. I hate the close up under chin angle men seem to do a lot where they either look like they’re pissed or in pain.

    Shirtless bathroom selfies

Pictures where they’re all over another girl or vice versa.

Where they’re showing off any material things (cars, clothes, etc) well maybe unless they had a really interesting collection of something. This one guy I saw had a whole room dedicated to Star Trek. I can appreciate that.

  4. Snapchat filters, photos with kids (not because I won’t date a single parent, I just think it’s weird to put kids pics online in general) shirtless photos, photos with lots of people in them and nothing else (like, which one are you??)

On the flip side, I like seeing outdoorsy photos, photos with pets, or just a decent selfie that isn’t filtered to shit or taken from a high angle. Just a straight on regular face pic is good.

  5. Them laying down on their beds. Or flexing. Both make my eyes roll. I hate it.

Oh also guys have the worst habbit of taking pictures of themselves from like their stomach level. Making them look very double chined, droopy eyed, and sloppy.

  6. So interesting bc idc if other women are in their photos but I hear that bothers a lot of people.

Guys with a mask on OR sunglasses on in EVERY photo. Maybe they’ll have one photo without, but come on – people need more than one photo of your full face. A lot of people are cute with a mask on lmao. Basically any pic that is not of themselves is useless to me

  7. Aa a straight man, my worst ones are:

Pictures with filters. If just on some is okay but still unnecessary. I want to see what you actually look like.

Pictures with masks. Same as above.

Pictures making stupid faces, especially the duckface.

Also kind of off subject but have at least one full body pic or at the very least from the waist up.

  8. Automatic no’s for me are for shirtless mirror selfie’s, smoking pics/videos, pics with filters, or when I’ve seen all their profile pics and still don’t know what they really look like (sunglasses pics only, far away pics only, poses where face is hidden)

  9. Some pictures on men’s profiles I’ve seen in the last few weeks that prompted an immediate ‘no’:

    – posing with a fish
    – a screenshot of a Snapchat with something obscene written in it
    – old pictures clearly date stamped years ago
    – a car on its own
    – dirty mirror selfies (I mean smears on the glass, not nudes!)
    – individual close up pictures of each tattoo
    – a pic of a coffee table, pushed up against the sofa, set up with wine, flowers and some car keys(?), followed by same coffee table set with 2 plates of spag bol
    – wearing a food stained t shirt
    – pics where a SO has clearly been cropped out (bonus negative points if you can see a reflection of them both in his sunglasses)

  10. Group pictures…. some guys take the time to blur out the faces but its very rare. i dont want to waste time trying to figure out who you are.

  11. Pictures where animals take of most of the space like yea I like animals but I wanna get with you not your albino gecko

Edit: to clarify im talking about profile pictures only

  12. >Pictures of them with other women that are clearly not their mother/ sister

    Could be a friend?

Anyway, here are mine for women:

    * Memes/inspirational photos. The fuck is the point of that?
    * All photos with friends, so you get to play the « which one is she? » game.
    * Every photo from the same weird angle.
    * Every photo having filters.
    * No photos showing their body.
    * Photos with kids and no explanation (Is that your kid? A niece/nephew?)
    * Every photo with dramatic angles and lighting. (cool, you’re an artist, but I can’t tell what you look like)

The basic gist is: please, for the love of god, just make sure I can tell what you ACTUALLY look like. I’m not going to go through the trouble of matching and chatting just to go on what is essentially a blind date.

  13. I didn’t get a match for 6 months.

Took some new pics last week. I had over 10 matches in one day. I have 4 dates set up now with 4 different women. I’m still getting new matches everyday, guess I’m not ugly! Lol

    Pictures matter yo.

  14. Anything remotely resembling a pout or duck face, a selfie taken in bed and anything where they do an extreme selfie from below where you can see double chin…and no smiles!

  15. Those billion in a dozen Bali holiday photo’s. Or photo’s of them leaning against some sort of bridge in a tropical country. I don’t know why, but that grates my cheese.

Also those picture sort of from the side where it looks as if they are « staring off into the distance ». Nl need to be so deep on a dating profile, my dude.

Pictures of them clearly being shitfaced.

    (this applies to all genders)

  16. Pictures of their car, dog or kids. I don’t care about your fly ride, not here to date your dog and it’s just wrong to post photos of children on dating sites.

  17. I recently returned to OLD after a longish break. As Frank Costanza used to shout « I’ve got some problems with you people! » 😉 I definitely have photo annoyances, but others too…
    – “Fluent in sarcasm”
    – Wrong age on profile
    – Selfies in cars. Usually scowling.
    – Selfies from terrible angles (I’ve seen more nose hairs in one lifetime than I ever needed to)
    – “Just ask”
    – Selfies in bathrooms. Usually face is covered by camera phone.
    – Selfies in gyms. Scowling again.
    – All photos with sunglasses – like, I get it, dude, I hate plastering my face on the internet too, but I do need to see your face if you want me to swipe your way.
    – Blurry photos
    – Selfies holding up a dead animal triumphantly- does this turn on anybody IRL?
    – Scowling in photos (I know I already mentioned that, but I don’t get why guys think this is an attractive look, so it deserved its own bullet point.
    – Group photos where you can’t figure out who the guy is
    – Photos where the person looks like an ENTIRELY different human in each photo. What is this sorcery?
    – Using aspirational memes as photos. This isn’t IG or your Ted Talk.
    – No bios at all.
    – Grainy and outdated photos from the 1990s or early 2000s… seriously? In this day and age of phone cameras and selfies, it ain’t that hard to use a current photo, people! Stop living in the past.
    – Photos taken from so far away that the person is a tiny, barely visible, blurry fleck. But you can definitely make out that they’re in sunglasses. I guess bonus points for no nose hairs?
Lord help me. I’ve only been back about 2 weeks, and I’ve already set my Hinge and Bumble on sleep mode to give myself a break from the madness.

  18. Pictures with cigs weed etc.

I don’t care if you smoke weed but 9/10 times the people who have those pictures have a dependency on it and or their entire personality is that they smoke weed

  19. The ones with a completely black picture and a bio that say « What’s with a face ? Match, let’s talk and see where it goes ».
Apart from the fact that they’re probably masquerading to be a fake person or there on the app for malicious intent, their personalities are probably exactly opposite of what they’re trying to portray.
That or they’re probably extremely depressed souls.

I usually don’t judge too quick but a black picture or a picture completely obstructed by a finger etc. is an instant left swipe.

P.S. I’m a 23 year old male and I’m referring to females. But if it’s a guy you see, the same facts could probably hold true.

  20. Im a straight women so here are the types of photos I dislike seeing on guys dating profiles: fishing, boating, douchey gym selfie, photos of JUST their dog or JUST the food they cooked.

  21. Stupid filters it’s happened a few times where I go to meet the girl and she looks like a completely different person than the pictures on her profile.

  22. Ladies: Stop putting filters on all your pics unless it’s an enhancement app. No snapchat filters. Also, all profiles should include at least one full body photo.

  23. I’ve seen a lot of women post selfies with what seems to be their dying relatives in hospital. Also I’ve seen some put their kids as their first picture, accidentally swiped yes on one of those and I’m now likely on a list somewhere
