Dating : Next steps?
I joined my university facebook group a few months ago and I put out a post asking for CS majors to drop their instagram. I chatted with my fellow students for a while and I am excited to meet them this fall when I join. I also talked to a girl privately on instagram and we have been having good conversation over topics like school as well as shared interests over the last month. I initiate the conversations most of the time, but she responds positively and she seems to enjoy the conversations. What should I do next? I was thinking about asking for her number and later asking her out on a date for boba (we both like boba).
How about you set up a date through Instagram and then on the day of your date you give her your number to that she can contact you if last minute problems arise. Normally she will share her number in return. That’s what I do on Tinder and it works for me. Sometimes I ask her number earlier if we connect well and chat a lot.
For a first date ask her out for drinks in a cocktail bar. It’s low effort and she can bail fairly easily if she doesn’t like you. If the chemistry is very good you can escalate by going to a different bar and put your arm around her. Observe how she reacts. Good luck.
