Dating : TikTok hurts my self esteem, makes me feel I’ll never have a date
I feel like on TikTok everyone is their true uncensored selves. Therefore the extreme lookism side of young people comes out. You can see this easily with who gets large numbers of likes. It’s 99% of the time good looking people. They don’t even do anything special. It’s just sexy people lip syncing or acting silly. Below average men make videos showing unique talents or skills and get less than 1/50th of the likes a cute guy or girl gets for saying a line from a song for 4 seconds.
Hell apparently the top vid on the app has 50+ million likes and is some attractive girl bobbing her head and making a duck face. But also, handsome men are taking up a huge amount of the likes too. If my generation is this heavily invested into lookism, how does an ugly ethnic somewhat short male like me even have a chance at getting a date? Where does being confident help if all people my age just focus on looks? Are most relationships becoming more superficial because of app culture and comparing partners to those you see with your friends on social media?
And don’t say tiktok isn’t real life. It’s literally the top app on play store.
There was a leak a couple of years ago and it showed what gets promoted. They actively have a rule for staff to push attractive people more and not promote ugly people or people with poor looking houses.

Social media is known to be superficial. If it’s affecting you negatively, you should take a break from it.
True uncensored selves ??? Or faking themselves to hide their own selves in the way to be perceived as trendy and collect likes and attention ?
Uninstall Tiktok and you will be happier, and no it’s not real life. It is people acting and using filters to beautify themselves, or make themselves look better than what they really are.

I try to avoid looking at tiktok. All it does is make me depressed lol. Why do it to yourself?
If it hurts your self esteem then you shouldn’t use it.

I think before some conventionally attractive people make tik toks they spend a lot of time thinking about who they want people to THINK they are. This building an image that only TikTok sees, so even they’re technically real. We live on a floating rock, do whatever tf you want dude. 🙂
Your best option would probably try to find a woman willing to settle for you. But the risk of her cheating or leaving are very high the moment an attractive man shows interest.
If youre not making money off tiktok I would just delete it
Welcome to the reality mate… it’s mostly always been like that ever… with people connecting globally it have also grown so… there is literally a dark side is yet to hit these not talented, unskilled attractive look laborers OK these apps and in real world too !! Well I will not say be yourself and everything will be fine but know yourself try to excel that will at least give you piece of mind. No wonder our generation is going to surpass the mark of people being alone long time and dieing alone too… but Survival of the fittest is the law for nature and we being part of Nature can not escape it except we think like humans not like Homo Sapians…!!!
Press not interested when these tik tok vids pop up — ur fyp will be dictated by other things u like. Theres a bunch of filters and self obsessed ppl on it so just keep thar in mind too

Those tiktokers that’s their strength, physical appearance.
Then avoid it. There are good channels on YouTube or Instagram pages filled with useful content, for all kind of interests.

What does TikTok provide for you? If you try a food and it makes you feel sick after eating it (in TikTok/SM case it’s more mental sickness) would you eat that food everyday? Take a break my friend.
Online you can change your appearance, voice, and personality through editing. You could not be more off with saying it’s their uncensored selves.
