Dating : Tips/pointers for picking up people, particularly women at bars/clubs, other social settings.
TL;DR: Title kinda says it all, body just has more meat.
I figured this has been asked more than once on here but a solid refresher is nice from time to time. I’ve had mixed luck in the dating world when it comes to meeting people face to face. I’m a relatively outgoing person, but it seems online dating is more my forte. I think I can blame it largely on the fact that there’s just less “noise” when you match with someone online, but while nothing long term has developed, the few times “going out” has proved fruitful, I feel much more fulfilled than if someone comes thru online.
Men and women alike, what are some approaches, recommendations that have worked for you? Ultimately something serious would be my preference, but I’m also not against something fun/casual as well. I intend to help others here too, if you’re gay, straight, whatever, feel free to post.
I meet guys in these settings by them just commenting on something me or my friends are saying/doing. The other night some guy came up to me and said I have the cutest laugh and he needed to know what was so funny. I thought that was nice/original of him. We got to chatting and we exchanged numbers and have been texting a bit so we’ll see. The most common is still “You’re cute, can I get you a drink?”
DO NOT just grab a girl on the dance floor. I shouldn’t have to say it but every other time me or my friends are out dancing, a guy will come up and just put their hands on someone’s hips. This is startling and not cool.
