Dating : She just suddenly dropped out for no apparent reason?

Dating : She just suddenly dropped out for no apparent reason?

Met this girl in class. Slowly started talking more and then we got to talking on social media for a few weeks, good interesting convos, some flirting. She repeatedly said ‘oh we need to meet up sometime’ ‘oh don’t worry I will tell you in real life’ (class is over btw so it would be on our own time). Then we both happened to be at a festival; she’s with a friend and the friend finds me and says « Oh (girl) was looking for you! She wanted to see you! » So the girl comes over and we talk for a bit, again some flirting, and she tells me again « Yeah we NEED to talk sometime, »

So I’m thinking alright, bet. So we talk a few more days over text, and then I ask her if she was free a certain day later that week. Immediately she shifts her tone, starts responding strangely, with short answers, dodging around. She eventually tells me she can’t and tells me what she was busy with. I know this should have been sign to just stop then and there, as she would have suggested a different day if she wanted to see me (yet it sounded like she did from what she had said earlier) so I ask about a different day and it’s the same story. So I just dropped it then and we literally haven’t talked since. That was a week ago. She used to comment on my posts and reply to my story as well and that just stopped.

So, possibly something I did? Or is she one of those that likes the chase?

  1. I had the same thing happen to me with a guy recently. We hung out once at his place and everything was fine, but then i asked him to go to the movies and he just stopped responding and got really weird. I suspect these people are just generally flaky and never want to make an effort with others, or are commitment-phobes and as soon as things start to feel date-y then they drop and run. Either way, don’t waste your time with people like that.
