My ex boyfriend (we met online) of 6 months broke up with me for about a month now, and although his reasoning for the breakup was not as direct, it made me think that he decided to breakup with me because both of us are in different stages of life. He’s 24 working full time while I am still 21 and have a year left with uni. I noticed how he was distant few weeks before breaking up but the breakup didn’t make much sense to me since he even said that there was no problems or negativity in the relationship, and even before we decided to get together both of us acknowledged that both of us are in different stages of life which made both of us even more confident with the relationship.

In a way, he also said how both of us are in different stages in life and when we first got together it made him feel even more confident in the relationship. Apparently, he’s noticed how little things started to build up that were not apparent in the beginning but have become more apparent over time. He also mentioned that he did his best not to make it interfere our relationship but in a way, after hearing what he said I think it has.

Both of us connected well with each other, we have similar hobbies and interests and our values in life are similar.

I just want to know some opinions if being in different stages in life with your partner is important no matter how well both of you get along. In the end, he did say didn’t want any of this to happen but thinks it’s just for the best and that he still loves and cares for me and wanting to be friends.
