I know the general opinion here is to back off and move on. But sometimes feelings are hard to control. In any case, I believe that the ball is in her court. If a girl with a boyfriend that I happen to like talks to me or contacts me out of the blue, I won’t turn it down. I guess it is up to her what relationship she still has with her boyfriend. Would this be fair to say? I know personally, that you don’t want to do the whole friendzone thing as this will only result in heartache, disappointment and unwanted attachment.

Ask yourself some questions – would you want someone to be entertaining your girlfriend in the time prior to things officially breaking off with you?
Are you a cheater? Do you want to be with the kind of girl who cheats on her boyfriends?
Karma tends to come back hard – do you need some girl’s idiot boyfriend and his buddies waiting for you someplace after he finds out what’s been going on?
An alternative to entertaining someone who is already taken would be to make yourself clear to her, like –
“Hey what’s up – are you still with your boyfriend? Well I’m not really interested in some weird three-way situation, and it isn’t really appropriated for us to be getting something going when you’re still somebody’s girlfriend. But hey, give me a call when you break it off with your boyfriend and are totally free and clear to move on, because I would love to see ya.”
You think any guy who was into her ever had the balls to stand up like that and let her know what’s what?
