Dating : Dating with the same name
For those who have dated someone with the same name or same start to a name as them, how did that go for you guys? I’ve always been pretty strict about staying away from any variation of Chris, Kri…, Kir…., Etc due to my name being Chris(topher), but I’m wondering what other peoples experiences were like.
This really cute Christina liked me on Hinge and I’m considering breaking my rule.
My buddy Jesse married his girl Jessie. When she got pregnant, I told them if they didn’t name their kid Jessy I was gonna be pissed.
Seems really common, I’m always seeing couples where the man and woman are both named Babe.
Chris^2
I knew a Bruno who dated a Bruna (both common in Brazil).
I also dated a girl with my last name (no relation).
Who cares?
A girl I knew from high school dated a guy all throughout college with the exact same name as her (think Taylor and Taylor but not), and they just got married. Shoot your shot.

Not sure if srs.
Literally my story. He broke up with me though but we dated for 3 years and it wasn’t at all a problem. We just thought it was funny if we have gotten married our initials were going to be one letter off. We were seriously 2 peas in a pod. It was fun though.
I know names can be important but if you really like someone you should go for it regardless of a name. It’s more about the person. They didn’t choose their name. You could be missing out on a great person and you would never know.
What’s your rationale for staying away from similar first names?
I personally don’t see a problem but I absolutely draw the line at dating someone with the same surname as me. But that’s different I guess.
It makes for an easy icebreaker/first line.
« Hey, ive seen this name before! » or something along those lines
My roommate in college is currently engaged to a guy with the same name… Taylor and Taylor. They’ll literally have the same exact name.
really? that’s your deal breaker? Just ask to call her Tina
