Dating : Funniest, strangest dating app stories or conversations?
A few come to mind:
– On Tinder, I had someone accuse me of catfishing being older than 27. Why? Because I spoke in complete sentences and use in their mind « big words » like preconceived notions.
– On POF, a girl sent me a message. I realized a few messages in that she was someone who had come to the library I worked at and was horrible to staff on the circulation desk. That staff member happened to be me. It wasn’t a good first impression so I ignored messages from them.
– On Tinder, I had someone ask if I could clear their library fines because they couldn’t borrow from the library. I said I would try. They wanted a guarantee. I didn’t answer fast enough and they blocked me lol
– Probably the strangest ones. I had a girl on Tinder message me and a guy on Grindr message me. Both beautiful looking, seemed normal. It turned out they were in a relationship with each other. Apparently they have an understanding but it’s not an « open relationship ». It was strange. I never mentioned to either one that I spoke to their significant other. Didn’t want to open up that can of worms.
Ah, extort the librarian. There’s an untapped market.
I had a guy joke about abducting me. He told me he’d be such a good kidnapper I’d develop Stockholm syndrome and never want to leave.
I got roped into a « to catch a predator » style scam that some dudes in fake cop uniforms were trying to pull. They didn’t see me, but I saw them extorting a guy who was also there at the apartment complex walking around looking at his phone. They said « are you here to meet (girls name)? She’s fuckin 16 and you’re in so much trouble yadda yadda unless you give us (some amount of money) we are taking you straight to jail » and then I got in my car and bailed.
Edit: her age in the profile was 18, and I didn’t ask for proof, so… Yeah.
On okcupid I matched with two guys who happened to be best friends with each other and told me about each other. I quickly noped out of that one. I also went on a date with a guy who didn’t tell me he was deaf until we met up.
On tinder I met with a guy who came and spent the night and left his watch. Then he came to spend the night again but he left his socks and still didn’t pick up the watch. So weird.
Also on tinder I met with a guy who catfished his body. His face was fine like the pictures but he was extremely overweight when we met. I tried to look past it and enjoy the date since he was sweet but I couldn’t get over his size and scent. Spent the night (because I missed my last train home) at his place only to find out that he still lived with his mom (perfectly fine) but he had to sneak me up the stairs like as if we were in high school. He carried me up on his back and we snuck up the stairs to his room. It was hilarious.
