Dating : Getting back into the game, might be a little rusty

For context:

-25M, currently in a relationship for over a year. Things have been going bad for a while now, we are currently on a break. We live in different cities. We are discussing a breakup.

-yesterday, a girl that had been going to my mother’s (she works as a beautician) dropped me a message on Facebook saying she’d like to meet today. Apparently my mom and her got to gossiping and the gal asked if I have a girlfriend. To which my mom said she didn’t know (as a true champ – also, maybe because she doesn’t like my current girlfriend that much). THIS (the talk between my mom and her) took place two months ago. Since then, we’d been trying to set up a meet, but we could never get in sync. Last we talked (about a months ago), I told her to ping me when she thinks she’ll be free to go out. Which brings us to present day.

– I am a few hours away from our date and i have some doubts. My last relationship lasted for 3 years, during which time I lost my fitness, my wit, my jokes, and everything else a guy needs to light that spark on the first date. The current relationship i’m in now simply kinda happened, I don’t really know how to say it. I kissed my gf on the third day because we’d been touring around the country and we’d be constantly near each other, so I didn’t feel the need to rush things.

-Now, I’m seeing this girl today and if things go well, tomorrow and the day after, possibly. BUT, I have my doubts regarding the first kiss. I know you should go with the flow, don’t start the date thinking just about the kiss and all of that. The thing is I’m really excited and I think I might be having an advantage, seeing that she got in contact with me and asked me to go out. Also, I’ve went through plenty of other times in which I kissed my date on the second or even third date and still got the girl.

-So, now I’m torn. Should I go in for the kiss on the first date? This would be because who knows who we’ll see each other again if t took us two months to set up this date? At least, the kiss would serve as an incentive for more – if it works, obviously. If I wait I feel like I’m going to lose her attention. My mother told me that when she told me she knew me from high school, even knew in which classroom I used to study. I never noticed her until two months ago.
