Dating : Ghosting someone after talking to them for a few weeks

I know it’s a shitty thing to do but I ghosted a dude I was talking to for about 2.5-3 weeks (on bumble, never met) and feel guilty that I didn’t have enough balls to tell him that I do not wish to talk to him but whats done is done. Have you guys ever ghosted someone after talking to them for a while or vice versa?
It’s not ghosting if you never met. Even after a date or two, it’s not ghosting. If you’ve had a series of dates (over 3) and disappear, that’s ghosting.
You technically still can tell him.
You can use the term catfished for me. I did an experiment to see if she actually looked like her pics…nope. Hid behind the filters so I bowed out.
