Dating : Help developing friendship and not feeling for other?
I’m 19M. I’ve always had a lack of female friends in my life. Because of this reason, when I do talk to a girl who shows a bit of attention to me, I feel really nice and end up having thoughts of dating that girl. If not dating the thought that the girl might be into me starts creeping. I know that’s not how things work and they are just being nice to a guy they know out of courtesy.
Any chances of developing a good female friendship have been destroyed by me. I as it is don’t approach girls due to anxiety and not knowing what to say or do. Many times I back off from the friendship cause I know it’s not gonna end up well. I’ve asked girls like these 3 times and they have ended in friendly rejections. They say I just look at you as a friend and I end up saying they don’t feel the same way. In hindsight even I feel the overwhelming feeling is what made me as they out.
All I wanna know is how to enjoy good female friendships with girls. Cause honestly I don’t believe I am ready to date and have a girlfriend. And I won’t be able to be a good boyfriend if I can’t be a good friend and a best friend. Any help will do wonders. Thanks.
Listen up bro. The only piece of advice I’m gonna give you is that you should figure out yourself first. Self love is important, figure out your flaws and try to be a better version of yourself.
In the past I wasn’t a good version of myself and whichever girl I was dating wasn’t bringing any value to table either. You attract more or less somebody who has the same values as you.
Just focus on yourself first rather than trying to get a girlfriend. You’re only 19, you have a long way to go. Don’t be a nice guy sucking upto girls, that is very needy. Just be confident about yourself.
