Dating : I am about to go date with my best friend’s EX
Hey everyone.
I have just discovered this sub.
So here is the short story of the situation that I am in.
My best friend dated with a very smart and kind girl for about 6 months. He eventually dumped her because he was no longer interested in her. I actually tried to fix things between them, telling how lucky he is to have a girl like that.
Nevertheless, he didn’t change his choice and told me that it’s over for good.
It’s been about 5-6 months since they got broke up. During that period I had tons of dates and all the time when I was dating with these girls I was thinking why I am not able to find a girl that my friend dumped..
Well, I couldn’t resist anymore and wrote to that girl 2 hours ago. We had some small talk about our lives etc. and after awhile I asked her to meet in real and have some real conversation.
So yeah, we are going to meet on Monday evening.
Now my questions are:
1: Do you think it’s normal to date best friend’s EX?
2: If so, Do you think I had to ask permission of my friend before setting up a date?
3: Since my friend dumped the girl, Am I right to think that it’s no big deal?
Tell me your thoughts if I am doing anything wrong. As much as I am really into this girl, I certainly wouldn’t want to lose a friend over it.

2. No permission but let him know. It is good manners.

Just in case don’t inflate your expectations until you go in a couple of dates first. I mean don’t invest emotionally until you get to know her better.
Sounds like your interested in her. Has your friend mentioned her since they broke up? If he hasn’t it means he doesn’t think about her and has no feelings for her. I’d say go for it but you should mention it to your friend. Like « hey I’m meeting so n so, just thought I’d let you know »
