Dating : i kind of hate dating.
title says it. i feel like i’ve never been successful. everybody says the same thing “you’re definitely going for the same guys” when they’re all different. deep down of course i have a preference, but all the guys i date have variety. i just don’t know why my relationships fail so quickly. it has to be me right? it can’t be the dudes i’m dating anymore because no matter who i date, it seems like it just fails after a month or two. i usually have flings. things never get far or deep enough to go anywhere else. idk why i’m writing this. i guess just to vent about how dating is stupid and it sucks.

This will probably get hate but if you’re dating straight men… I’d probably get into the habit of not blaming yourself.
Of course you can self reflect and analyze your dating history; Work on yourself and make sure you’re putting your best foot forward at all times; make sure you’re not being stereotypical.
If all of this checks out, it’s not you. There are too many stories and so much data about failed dating attempts and unhappy relationships. I hope you find some happiness in solitude and just getting to meet new people. After all, in the end all you need is one person, they’ll come. Good luck!

You gotta just make friends tho. And if you’ve lived in the same place for a while and it seems like everyone is either incompatible or already taken then its probably time to move cities or something. I know that sounds extreme but there are so many people on this planet and it’s not safe to assume the perfect person for you is « within 10 miles » from you. It’s just not that simple.
I met this girl on a trip to Flagstaff and we were on a hiking tour together and we just hit it off and went out for drinks and I ended up staying at her place two nights in a row and she came with me back home and we hung out for 3 days straight and dated for about 2 years. Best relationship of my life. Ended on great terms and I have a friend I can hangout with if I ever go back to Flagstaff.
Dating is ass. You have to shit like 3 times before every engagement, you’re constantly going over how stupid you might have sounded, AND you need to leave the house.
It’s complete misery.
