Dating : Is it appropriate for me to ask for a customers number as a Bartender? (M/24)

Dating : Is it appropriate for me to ask for a customers number as a Bartender? (M/24)

Hey guys, first post here.

I was always a bigger lad until recently, I came out of a long term relationship and moved across the country (UK) and lost about 3 stone. I have started to work in a very popular pub in my area and I have started to attract attention from the same sex, eventhough I don’t bat for that team – I always appreciate a compliment and…heck it is a bit of a confidence boost at the end of the day.

But if I say got on well with someone behind the bar, do you think it’s appropriate to offer my number? I personally don’t struggle with embarrassment/rejection, but I don’t want to make anyone feel like they cannot buy any more drinks as I am often the only one serving. So any opinions, as blunt as you like. Would be much appreciated, as I have always been in long relationships I’ve not really been single since I was 16 – I am 24 now.

Thank you r/dating

I hope you all have a lovely day <3

  1. Rather inappropriate, maybe if you spend some time talking with one and there is some chemistry. Anyway, it’s much better to make moves outside your on another person workplace.

  2. I would say it’s not appropriate to ask for numbers, especially as a male. If a woman is interested enough, they’ll leave you their number.

  3. You will most likely make them uncomfortable. Even if it doesn’t, and you go out a few times,…when you stop you will become their « Ex » and they won’t come to the place again if the « Ex » works there.
