Dating : is this age gap too much?
hey guys! so I am 20, turning 21 very soon and I’ve been talking for a couple of weeks with a guy who just turned 27. we agreed to go out and have drinks next week, and this will be our first date. usually when it comes to dating, my limit is 24-25, so I am a bit concerned that he’s too old for me. we do actually have quite a lot in common, which is why I agreed to meet up with him. at the moment I’m not sure if he’s looking for something casual (and therefore wouldn’t care about the age gap) or something serious. he hasn’t made any attempts to make our conversations sexual or flirty, which makes me think he’s looking for the latter. I wouldn’t mind either situation, but I’ve never dated someone his age before so I’m a little nervous and worried that this will be a mistake.
It genuinely depends on how objectively you can determine your maturity. He has a lot more life experience than you, especially as an adult.
I am 36 and my GF is 30 (we have the same bday) so I don’t think the age gap is too much.
Just be mindful if you see any manipulative or coercive behaviors that you don’t agree with. If you feel uncomfortable then you have that feeling for a reason so don’t ignore it.
This is the exact age gap between me and my boyfriend. In my opinion, as long as you treat each other with respect and get along well, then it doesn’t matter. Whatever you are comfortable with.
That’s not enough difference to worry about. If you were the older one and he was your age it might be a different story.
Get to know him first and only over the phone or in public places.
Put it in the hands of the Lord. If Jesus says its OK, then it will be all fine, if not then please move on.
Not gonna lie I didn’t bother reading the description.. if you gotta ask other people for their opinion, then it’s most likely something you’re not ok with. As someone who’s only been in large age gap relationships, it won’t work if you’re questioning it
