Dating : Met someone I matched with for dinner. Dinner went great. Besides an extremely distracting detail.
Teeth.
His teeth. His pictures never showed any teeth. I don’t expect someone I date to have perfect teeth. I don’t even care if they have straight teeth. BUT, the teeth should still be cared for.
Y’all. My date had a TON of visible plaque on his teeth. When he spoke, when he smiled, when he opened his mouth to eat, it was all I could see. I couldn’t look away. At one point he got a bite of his food and I spotted a BLACK ROTTING tooth on the inside of his mouth.
He has a job with medical/dental coverage, so I wouldn’t think money is an issue. I was pretty grossed out and it was enough for me to know early on that I wouldn’t have a second date with him. I mean, how could I bring up dental hygiene when I’ve only just met the person? He is fit, stylish, has well-groomed hair, educated, sweet. Why not just give your teeth some love?! It’s bad enough where I know he must be aware that his teeth are in that state.
Anyway, I got home and the first thing I did was floss and buy myself one of them shiny new electric toothbrushes from Amazon. Remember to get your bi-yearly dental cleanings, y’all.
Ugh yeah I’ve been through that. So much plaque build up that even his gums were covered in white slimy stuff ***shivers***
I’ve never had a cavity in my life, but because my teeth are naturally a bit yellow, I fear people think I have poor dental hygiene. It sucks.
I’m a good looking dude with crooked teeth from taking my retainers off when I was a little kid. But guess what, I have good brushing habits and my teeth don’t seem to count against me at all. It’s not a death sentence, like so many other things in life just put a little bit of effort in and you’re gonna be okay. And, there’s a huge difference between crooked teeth and gross, dirty teeth. I know when I’m seeing a cute girl with crooked teeth I don’t think « Man, I wish her teeth were straight. » To me it’s just a fun quirk that makes her unique, different, and menorable. Takr care of yourself and you WILL shine brighter both to yourself and everyone else.
I’ve had this happen a couple times and it was nauseating both times. The first one claimed to be a germaphobe yet had yellow scuz all over his teeth. It was revolting.
Lol! You just got these people that take shitty care of their teeth. Gross! I’m male and their was this cool chick that wasn’t bad looking at all and had tattoos and smoked. She had the same issue with plaque and shit on her teeth, so I just couldn’t bring myself to date her. I love french kissing my women, and the thought was just an absolute turn off!
now i feel the urge to brush my teeth. honestly i don’t blame you for feeling like that, imagine kissing someone like this. it’s a downright health hazard. one of the last guys that i was talking to had a pretty prominent cavity on display on one of his front teeth, that was enough to make me more than a bit squeamish (turns out it was the least of his downfalls but still lmao). just, wow.

I use to be this guy. It was a part of depression I didnt realize. I worked 12-14 hours a day, ate fast food, energy drinks, coffee, etc for years. I was an introverted PC gamer though, so I didnt get out much. I literally had craters in my teeth but I would only brush like once a week (if that) and the food crumbs would fill in the cavities to make it look halfway normal.
Anyways I set up a date with this girl off tinder and got all cleaned up and then realized I had brushed all the nasty stuff that hid my teeth craters. So I cancelled the date and set up a dental appointment.
It was the first time I had been to a dentist in damn near 12 years. It took 5 visits. I think 13 cavities were filled and a couple were potential risks for a root canal. Now I brush twice a day and shiver when I look back lol.
For me it’s too obvious once effort is given and you’re already on date etc I’d tell you, honestly and simply. Yeah lol, now your teeth are almost redundantly lot more clean and he is just thinking what went wrong and get a new haircut, playing more cute lmao. Ego is borderless. Actually this is my biggest problem with most women, lack of real honesty

I’m kinda talking to this girl and all her profile photos are of her smirking. I asked her to share more photos and it’s her again smirking, no teeth showing at all. I’m starting to feel like I might be in for a surprise.
I noticed a trend with this. I was surprised to find out I was one the only few in my friends group that goes to the dentist 2 or 3 times a year for a deep cleaning/ upkeep. If I were to go out with a girl who didn’t take care of her teeth it would definitely be in instant turn off. Gives me the shivers thinking about it.
Some people build plaque super easily. I go to the dentist every 6 months on schedule and still have gross teeth by like month 3 (and my plaque turns like a gross orange or brown color by month 5) Dentist said it’s genetic. I’ve even made diet changes and gotten special tooth hygiene products. Try not to judge too hard until you know the whole story, OP.
omg for real!! Dental hygiene is so important. It’s such a turn off when men can’t even keep up basic care, smh.
Omg I was on a date like this two weeks ago his teeth was eaten by cavities we gone on three dates before I never noticed because they were at night. I was turned me off also the fact that his shirt had a hole in the back but where in a pandemic n he works in construction so that didn’t bother me. I’d rather the guy have crooked teeth then bad dental hygiene We never kissed but I’m sure his breathe smelled bad also. but I understand dental cares not cheap either but keeping up with its health shouldn’t b too pricey either

Haha. That’s funny. I think I would find a way around it if the other person was really interesting. You can teach then to brush their teeth…kinda hard to make someone fun to be around.
I wonder if he naturally has bad teeth. Some people unfortunately just don’t have the nice teeth genetics.
To bad he couldn’t see through your pants at your legs in your pic. Maybe he was just as embarrassed but his teeth as you are about your legs. It takes a special person that overlooks those things and sees the person falling in love with them. I guess your not that type of person but expect it in return.

It amazes me when women think they have so many options that they’ll drop a guy for bad teeth but get bent out of shape when a guy is like « I’m not into heavy girls »
