Been through so many heartbreaks and disappointments that I started questioning myself, my worth, my value…

All I want is just that one person but why does it feel like I am required to find 50 men before the year ends?

I remember this Twitter post saying « My wedding day is getting closer and closer and I haven’t found my groom yet. » It was funny at first then it hit me.

  1. Remember that your dating pool does not include the entire world’s population of men. What gives you the idea? Depending on where you live, your potential dating pool is probably anywhere from 0 to 100000 or so. If I take a decently populated city of, say, 500.000 people, 250.000 women. Single rate in my area is 34%, so 85.000. Of those about 20.000 fall into my age range. That number is a little bit below seven billion.

  2. People who actively search for a relationship will find multiple shorter ones or just none at all. Once you stop trying to look, it’ll happen and it’ll be unexpected, a pleasant surprise if you will.
