Dating : To date is to get treated like a consumer product
No matter what your gender is. That’s where it all starts and I’m fully convinced now that this is most of what’s going on with sex and relationships both in their entirety. At least these days. I guess capitalism and consumerism just took it all over. Or maybe it was always actually like that.
But I guess I want nothing to do with it anymore. Now that I know what it actually is. Pretty disappointing. I actually believed love was something people believed in. I’m an idiot. Just a bunch of people treating each other like shit. I guess I’m glad I was a late bloomer that missed out on all this stuff for the most part. Better if I never engaged in it at all but I guess I had to find out what it was somehow
yep. doesn’t help that the online dating experience has basically turned it into online shopping lmao. profiles are nothing more than consumer products as you put it. it’s completely dehumanizing.
Consuming is one-sided, healthy relationships are anything but. To date is to be vulnerable, to understand that people are people and all of them are different, and all of them have different value systems.
Treat someone like a consumer product and see how far it gets you…
