Dating : What is the best and quickest way to get out of a date where people keep using phones ?

I’ve come across people who come up with excuses to use phones on a date. My recent one used the phone couple of times and even made a phone call, it seemed pretty made up the way she talked on the call. I felt like I wanted to pay my part of the check and walk out, yet she insisted she wanted to have desserts!

I have zero tolerance to such dates, especially the ones that are obvious that they’re making up an emergency just to be disrespectful.

What’s the best way you’ve walked out of such a date without making much of a fuss ?

  1. « You don’t seem to be interested, so I’m going to go. » It takes two people to have a date, if he or she isn’t putting any effort in, then it isn’t going to go anywhere.

  2. I’d just pay my way and get outta there. Fuck dessert if they’re not giving you the time of day just get out of there.

But that’s just what I’d do.

Note: don’t literally fuck the dessert.

  3. We’re grown! At any point we feel uncomfortable, we’re free to put money down on the table and say,

“Well hey, I’m gonna get going. Thanks for doing this! Enjoy the rest of your evening.”

  4. You should pay your half and leave. It’s very immature if they act that way. When I’m (27F) on dates I put my phone on vibrate and give my date my full attention. Give respect to your date isn’t that hard. I’ve had men do this to me where they randomly check their phones during a date, I’d ask you got somewhere to be? Depending on their answer, I end the date early and pay for my half.
