Dating : What keeps you going?
I’ve been dating since I went to college (now 29F) and have had the worst luck. I’ve had a couple relationships, both weren’t healthy, and ended for the better. Ultimately, what’s keeps me continually dating, is my strong desire to meet someone who I can share my life with. I’ve dated plenty of nice guys, but the ones I always feel a deeper connection/fall for never seem to work out. I mostly do online dating, but have also met people in real life, but have had the same end result. I often think of taking a break, but it doesn’t usually last long because the only missing piece I feel is a partner to share this life with… You can’t win the lottery if you don’t buy a ticket (right?)
So what keeps you going when you keep meeting people and it never works out in the end?
Therapy, adventure, and a pure hard-hearted (penis) faith in myself
Edit: the penis thing is mostly a lie, but I gotta accept my small joys in life as they are.
Honestly, what keeps me going is that even though I’m not with someone, I still have people in my corner. I may not have a partner, but I have a family that will do anything for me and some kickass friends. I might feel lonely, but at the end of the day, I have a great support system around me. Also, just knowing that I have the freedom to do what I please, love myself, and learn about myself with whatever hobbies I want to do is always a plus.
idk anymore, its gotten to the point where i don’t want to try, and when i think im into someone, a month later im bored or not into them
i think when it happens, you’ll know and it will feel easy
dating can be fun if you keep things casual and just date as many ppl as possible until you find something real, that’s how i met my current SO – (and when i say dating i dont mean hooknig up, i think that can ruin a connection if you don’t wait til the right time)
I’m pretty good at entertaining myself so I know I can always do that even if I don’t meet anyone.
