Dating : What to get my boyfriend instead of flowers
hi all!
this week I’m (20F) taking my boyfriend on a date and since its officially our first date I wanted to make it special! I’ve figured out where to go but I’m stuck on one part.
I kind of want to get him flowers for at the start of the date when I pick him up, but I know he’s not the biggest fan of flowers. I know he would appreciate the gesture and still like that I did that for him but I’d rather get him something that truly makes him happy!
Any ideas? thanks in advance!

Belt, cologne from stirling soap company, anything that won’t possibly go into the trash at the end of the week.
flowers on any date are awkward – you either leave them in the car and they get too hot, or someone has to carry them around and it just becomes a nuisance.
I did read down about some of your other comments, it sounds like you guys already have a good thing going, and you should know some more personal things about him. If he likes video games why don’t you get him a little figurine from one of the games he likes/you two play together and tell him « I got you a little something to remember our first official date »

Definitely don’t get him flowers. I would reconsider whether you need to give him any kind of gift on the first date.

I was told at some point a few years ago that a girl giving a guy homemade baked goods (like cookies) is the equivalent to a guy getting a girl flowers. Since I love to bake, that’s my go-to
Just get him a mix of tall cans of beer and bunch it like a bouquet. Nothing says I care like a colourful bouquet of beer
