Dating : Why are there so many Chinese women on Facebook Dating? Are they fake accounts from China?
They all look the same, very attractive, high resolution photos of women that appear to live in China. Yet they have profiles with locations in Canada and the United States. They all use WhatsApp instead of FB Dating to communicate. A lot of them seem to be into Bitcoin.
Are they catfish? Are they really women? Are they really Chinese? Where are they from? Any ideas?
If their all much into finances and prefer to switch over to whatsapp quickly to discuss more of that, they could be scammers. Whatsapp is secure and encrypted so they can get away with anything devious. They might not even be women or Chinese. Definitely probably catfish. Those high resolution photos give it off.
You can probably Google image search those photos and find a bunch of accounts made with the same photos.
It’s likely a honey pot con. Start of chatting. Slowly get you to start talking about finances. Then you’ll be asked to do something with your money.

The minute they start talking about crypto or investment you know they are fake crypto scams. I’ve spoken to two and they do put a lot of effort into conversation but a couple of days down the track will ask you to help because they can’t access a computer to do a crypto transaction… Pretty common knowledge they aren’t legit. Maybe it wouldn’t be so suspicious if they had local photos but it’s also all overseas stuff
Do you talk to them? If they all respond the same then they are robots. If they respond to your prompts, analyze what they say – they may claim to be foreigners to excuse their poor English, but verify that the mistakes they make are consistent with a native Chinese speaker and not a native speaker of some other language.
I thought Facebook was banned in China. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.
