Dating : Why are women so cruel?

Twice over the past few weeks I have gotten chatting to a woman who I seemed to get along well with, so I ask if they have social media. They said yes and I suggested that I we add each other on social media. I should stress that I made clear that they did not *have* to add me and it was only a suggestion. But they were more than happy to do so.

And yet eventually they unfriended me. The first a couple of days later, the second literally within an hour.

Don’t women understand that this is an unfair and *cruel* thing to do? I made clear that they didn’t have to add me on social media so they could have respectfully declined, or simply claimed they didn’t have it. Also, I wouldn’t have suggested it if we weren’t getting along really well. Both times we made each other laugh and vice versa, it’s not like I was getting one-word answers with obvious signals to go away.

I find this far more damaging for my self esteem than a simple outright rejection. It makes me feel ugly and repulsive, or that I’m so creepy that girls have to pretend to like me, and all I can do is wonder what the hell I did that was so wrong.

I would never do this to someone. It’s so much fairer to respectfully reject someone outright, rather than making them think they had a chance, which causes so much more hurt, disappointment, lack of confidence and trust issues.

Ladies, a bit of kindness and empathy, and remembrance of the fact that men don’t like being messed around any more than women do would never go amiss.
