Dating : Advice on long distance relationships

Okay so to start off – I’ve had one before and it lasted about a year long distance before turning very toxic and I just want to avoid this again.

For context I’m going to college about 20 hours from home and no matter where I start a relationship (at home or college) it’ll have to be long distance at some point. I’m very interested in this guy but am scared to try and start anything again when that’s how my last relationship ended. Would it be better just to maintain a friendship till I graduate (2 years) and then see if there’s anything still there?

  1. My advice for long distance relationships would be to not do it. Ever. They don’t work. You’re just keeping yourself unavailable and missing out on opportunities. You can stay friends with that guy but don’t stop yourself from dating anyone where you’re going.
