Dating : Romantically inept and new to dating
I’m a 22yo male and I met this girl at a wedding. We’ve been on 3 dates so far and the latest one was super awkward. Actually, all the dates so far have had moments where the awkward levels were over 9000. We have our moments when we really connect and have a great time but since I have no idea what I’m doing or the what to say, there are times when its just horrifically awkward. I’m not normally socially awkward, but when it comes to romance or intimacy or vulnerability, I’m an A-grade dummy. Truth be told, I don’t think she cares as much as I think she does but its hard to get a read on her.
So I guess I actually have 2 questions:
How to end the awkward silence situations?
How to recover from awkward dates?
Eh you’re 22 and are still figuring yourself out. Everyone goes through it and at that age the awkward moments tend to resonate a lot more.
Honestly just embrace them and learn to laugh at yourself. The more you become comfortable with who you are as a person, and learn to not care so much about what this single person thinks about you, the less awkward things will be. It will also let you to have more fun out there. Go get em champ
When the awkward silence comes on, maybe try treating it as a transition into intense eye contact with a relaxed grin?
