Dating : Where/How to meet women?
Hi! So this is my second attempt at joining Reddit and figuring out how it all works so sorry if I’m using this wrong or this topic has already been done. First, just a quick intro and then to the topic at hand. I’m 32 years old CIS white male, Only dated once right after college for 3 months. Been alone the rest of my life and become kinda a hermit for several reasons.
Now onto the topic. A problem I deal with in wanting to date is meeting people in any capacity. See the most common answers I hear to the question is « the bar » or « church » (I live in the bible belt so that’s why the second answers comes up alot). Thing is I don’t drink and I’m not super religious these days so church doesn’t seem good not to mention the fact I feel it in bad taste to go to church in hopes of finding a relationship and not for something spiritual. The last thing that kinda makes the idea of searching for someone here is this is a really red state and I’ve become very left leaning these last few years.
So basically the whole point of this post is for anyone with good suggestions on how someone like me can meet new people and find somebody when the options « the bar » or « church » and not ideal.Any input positive or negative is appreciated.
Note: Yes, I’ve tried things like Tinder and Bumble but nothing yet has happened from that.
EDIT: This post does talk about me but not intended to be advice to only me. This was intended for discussion to advise anybody. Also please don’t pm me offering advice as a « expert » or what not.
If you are left leaning, see if there are any political meetups or discussion groups for causes you care about. Volunteer for some of them. Then you’ll be more likely to find compatibility.
Try IRL. I meet women just going through daily life. Just yesterday I went out on a date with my ultrasound massage therapist. She also told me that a nurse at a facility also « inquired » about me. During my sessions we have lively chats and I was able to keep her lauging the whole time.
IRL is all I know, so it comes natural to me. YMMV.
